Chasing Solitude at Laguna Piedra
I’m not a morning person. Like, at all. Dragging myself out of bed before sunrise feels like an act of war against my soul. But for Laguna Piedra, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. 💛
There’s something magical about visiting a place that feels like it’s been forgotten by the crowds. This saltwater lagoon, tucked away in the Atacama Desert, is the definition of off the beaten path. Unlike the more touristy lagoons or even the famed Dead Sea, this spot feels raw, untouched, and so deeply connected to nature. 🌍
Driving out as the sun peeked over the horizon, I felt a rare kind of peace. The silence out here is profound—just you, the desert, and the distant mountains standing guard over it all. 🏔️ And the lagoon itself? Unreal. You float effortlessly in the saltwater, surrounded by a blindingly white crust of salt flats. It’s like your own private slice of serenity.
📸 Watching the sunlight dance on the water as the day came to life reminded me why I push myself to do things like this. Even for a morning-hater like me, it was so worth it.
This is the kind of place you visit when you crave something more genuine, something real. It’s not just about the beauty (though, wow 😍), but about reconnecting with the world without distractions.
If you ever find yourself in San Pedro de Atacama, take the detour. Wake up early. Go. You won’t regret it. ✨
