Fruit, Culture, and Compromise: A Funny Lesson on Travel Etiquette
The reality of travel is sometimes this ๐๐ Wait until the end to see the ridiculousness of the situation ๐ซ ๐๐
Honestly - you couldnโt make this up, but I really wanted to share this as a lesson on the difference of cultures - and the importance of not insulting others while visiting their home country ๐ฅฒ.
This home stay was so lovely and kind, and I knew that they were just being hospitable to give me such a big plate of fresh fruit in the first place, but unfortunately I have had to learn the hard way about staying safe when it comes to eating food in foreign countries.
It can be anything from chicken and meat, to salad that has been washed with unfiltered water toโฆ dirty fruit. Nevermind my gluten intolerance issues!
So Iโm now really careful - but Iโm also conscious enough to be polite about the situation. In India, itโs rude to leave food left uneaten, so I couldnโt dare insult the nice people! Watch until the end to see what I had to do ๐ฅฒ
Have you had any situations like this? ๐
