Did you know that the pink rock color of Petra’s stone varies throughout the day and in different weather conditions?!

The stone appears to change from a pale rose to a deep red, particularly at sunrise and sunset when the play of light accentuates its natural beauty. This unique characteristic not only contributes to Petra’s aesthetic appeal but also to its nickname, the “Rose City.”
