For Everything, There is a Season 😌

Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I talk a lot about my digital nomad lifestyle. It’s a life that I’ve loved and embraced the last ~6 years. I’ve immersed myself in so many cultures, learned so much & grown in so many ways.

Looking at this photo from the first of my digital nomad travels.. wow. I simply am not the same person. I’ve grown older, I’ve forged deeper friendships than I ever thought possible, I’ve learned so much about myself & really “grown into my skin”. Let me tell you, a person who is comfortable with and knows themself, who has traveled the globe solo.. we are not to be underestimated 💪

Still, the digital nomad lifestyle comes at a steep price.

From shoddy WiFi to weeks on end without IRL human interaction, extended stay travel is both a blessing & a curse. It’s a way to escape the daily rut, a fast track to personal growth, & the BEST (& in my opinion - only) way to truly understand how vast & diverse our world is.

So, Im winding down. Starting next month, I’ll be taking a pause from my Nomadic lifestyle. I’ll continue to travel, but now - with a home base.  🙃

However, I’m not simply throwing in the towel. Rather, this time is being used to build something bigger, better, so that we can all travel more comfortably & with more community. Whether full time, or a few more weeks or months a year..

For a long time, I complained - with 35 million digital nomads globally & many more extended stay travelers.. nearly 2/3 of whom are 30+ years old, why is the only realistic option for solo extended stay travelers HOSTELS. Not to say hostels aren’t great. But at some point, the backpacker life leaves you. What I’m working on is different. @sojournserai will be a collection of affordable luxury accommodations, made for the needs of slow travelers who might be a bit too “grown up” for hostels, but still very much want the comforts of home & community, when they travel.

I’m thrilled to share my progress with you as I continue to build this community.
